Sandfields Lions and Lionesses FC was formed in September 2023 by a group of parents putting together a committee. As parents we felt that we needed to form a club for our children in Sandfields estate in Port Talbot as many of the children are from here, and most of the local football clubs where full at that time. We are now affiliated with the FAW and Bridgend Port Talbot Junior football league and have been playing regularly games on a saturday morning. All our coaches have an enhanced DBS check and trained through the FAW coaches course and first aid. We started with two mixed under 9 teams and now expanding even more age groups as our clubs reputation is getting out there, that we are a family and friendly club.
